Welcome again to another entry in our continuing saga of finding the best turkey sandwich in San Francisco. I know, it has nothing to do with HTF, but in some ways it does. The reason it does is...
...because I say so. Anyway. I should start off by saying that I think I'm changing the criteria from "turkey sandwich" to just "sandwich". The reason being that I find when I go to these sandwich shops I don't want to just order a turkey sandwich, I want a sandwich with more. Ham, roast beef, bacon, etc. All that stuff is good. The more meat, the better the sandwich. If you're a vegetarian, I'm sorry. Although, I don't know if there are too many vegetarians watching HTF since the show sort of screams carnivore.
Now, before you freak out, please don't send any angry letters stating something like, "You don't have to be a meat eater to love HTF! I'm a class 4 vegan. I don't eat anything that has a shadow, and I love HTF. Don't oppress me!!!" I'm not here to put anybody down. HTF is for ANYBODY who understands it. I just want to talk about sandwiches, so lets just move on with the blog.
Anywho, the next place on our journey is a joint called AK Subs located on 8th and Harrison. I had the Chris Combo, which was turkey, roast beef and ham. I had it hot, you got have the sandwich hot if it's an option. Kenn asked me after my first few bites if it was better then Mr. Pickles. I said no. When I finished though, I realized it WAS better. I don't know what changed my mind. I just knew that it was better. Still not the best though...the search goes on.
Another perk about AK Subs is that it's located in an area with a lot of leather clothes stores. So if you're into S&M or bondage, AND love sandwiches, you can kill two birds with one stone with a trip to AK Subs. Kill two birds with one stone??? Why didn't we think about that before? That's sooooo going in a script. SEE I told you this was about HTF.

I agree that alot of meat makes an awesome sandwich, but you could add some jalapenos. I dont care if i spelled it wrong sheesh!

A Guy,
I could add jalapenos. I'm personally not a big fan of jalapenos, but I know people who are. I do see your point, and I do add other things besides meat to my sandwich, (cheese, lettuce, mustard, etc.). That's how you make a well-rounded sandwich.
I like where your head is at.
